1. The overall aim is to build strong, intercultural networks on a personal and professional level.\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Enrichment of scientific knowledge and offering new experiences:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

There will be opportunities to present one\u2019s own research to fellow students.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be a wide range of professional lectures and workshops on diverse psychological topics, controversies and research.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. International meeting of students, exchange of ideas and cross cultural communication:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Many opportunities for cooperation on different levels, both scientific and social will be offered.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Promoting EFPSA and its Mission, Vision and Values:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

EFPSA\u00b4s activities and services will be presented to all participants.<\/span><\/p>\n

All participants will have the chance to actively contribute to the development of the Federation or even join the working community in one of the positions of the Executive Board that will be starting their mandate.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Promoting intercultural dialogue within Europe:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Congress will bring together students from more than 30 countries and regions of Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Open discussion sessions, workshops, and lectures delivered by professionals and students will encourage discussions among participants about cultural differences.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Presenting Denmark and the way psychology is taught, practiced and viewed within our culture:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Lectures will be held by a wide range of lecturers and professional Psychologists from different universities and institutions, not only from Denmark. A Search for Happiness<\/b><\/h1>\t\t\t\t\t

Denmark has frequently been nominated as one of the world\u2019s happiest nations - a title that Danes tend to find pride in. However, is there a secret in this Danish lifestyle that leads to happiness? Is it how we enjoy spending time together, sharing moments of \u201chygge\u201d or do we balance our professional and private life perfectly? We do not know the exact answer, but the concept of happiness intrigues us. For this reason we have decided, that understanding the concept of happiness constitutes the central theme of the 33rd EFPSA Congress. We consider happiness as an important aspect of a meaningful life, and we believe that people strive for happiness throughout life, whether this is a conscious or unconscious action. This belief resulted in the catchphrase \u201cA Search for Happiness\u201d<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the 33rd Congress, we have chosen to separate the social and the scientific theme. Our scientific theme is \u201cA Search for Happiness\u201d and our social theme is \"Happily ever after\"<\/span>. With these themes we aim to simultaneously present scientific knowledge about different aspects of happiness, while also introducing the attending psychology student to Danish culture, lifestyle and values. In this manner, we believe that the scientific and social programme in synergy offer a balance between professionalism and a socially shared experience with peers within the field of psychology, an essential part of the EFPSA Congress.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t

DPS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Danish Psychological Association\u2019s Student Section (DPS) is the national organisation for psychology students in Denmark. DPS is part of the Danish Psychological Association, which is a professional union and representative body of psychologists in Denmark. DPS is based on and run by dedicated volunteers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main goal in DPS is to represent and promote psychology students\u2019 professional and political interest and encourage networking, development and scientific interest. Additionally, DPS also assume the task of creating social and scientific events for psychology students both locally at the 4 universities and nationally, which serve as an opportunity to connect and inspire psychology students. In relation to this, DPS also financially support most of the local and national events created by and for psychology students. This aims to secure that the social and scientific environment is thriving and that psychology students have interesting events to gather around - this include amongst other events; revue at each university and a summer camp. In addition to the social and scientific events, we also aim to prepare the psychology students for their future as psychologists in Denmark and give them an idea of what to expect and where they can find guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since, DPS is part of the professional body for psychologists we work towards ensuring the association is aware and takes action in regard to political issues evolving or affecting psychology students. Furthermore, we ensure that the association is a place for psychology students to find inspiration and resources, and that the association is aware of the interests of psychology students. This is supported by the president and vice-president of DPS having a seat at the board in association.<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure connection with all psychology students, DPS has a board at each of the four universities. This enhances the contact between students and organisation. Furthermore, it ensures that our activities are suited to the university\u2019s needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

DPS collaborate with multiple organisations to ensure the interest of psychology students. This includes working closely with other national student organisations to ensure our political interest and awareness. It also includes local organisations at the universities, where we work to ensure a good working environment for the students. Furthermore, DPS is of course part of EFPSA to make sure psychology students have the opportunities to learn from other European countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

DP<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

DP \u2013 Danish Psychological Association \u2013 is the national professional union and representative body for psychologists. As students, we are part of this organisation and within this have our own section, which focuses on psychology student\u2019s interests.<\/span><\/p>\n

The association was founded in 1947 and is an association exclusively for psychologists and psychology students. As the case with the students\u2019 section, the association have a close collaboration with other national organisations, Nordic Psychological Associations and EFPA, as well as IUPsyS.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aims of the Danish Psychological Association are:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • To protect the professional, financial and copyright related interests of its members \u2013 in Denmark psychologist is a protected title.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To promote interest in psychology and awareness of its significance, to try to ensure better conditions for psychological research and practical psychological work, and to ensure that the education, including further training of psychologists, is in accordance with the findings of\u00a0psychological research.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To promote cooperation and understanding between psychologists and other professional groups who exhibit shared interests and work relationships.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To seek to ensure growth and development through psychological health and welfare.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To organize all psychologists including public employees, private-sector employees, private practitioners (clinical and organizational psychologists) and chief psychologists.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t

    As Head of the Organising Committee Katja holds the important role as coordinator for the 33rd EFPSA Congress. She ensures good communication between the Executive Board of EFPSA and the Org.Com, but first and foremost she offers constant support to the Org.Com whilst keeping the teams motivated. With continuous follow-up on our joint effort, she helps us put together the many puzzle pieces of the 33rd EFPSA Congress.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Once upon a time<\/span><\/strong><\/em> there was a Kingdom (in constituting with the Faroe Islands and Greenland) called Denmark; a Kingdom consisting of 406 islands and a 7314 km coastline. No matter where you find yourself, there is no more than one hour by car to the sandy coast. Denmark is a flat arable land with several larger woodlands; in fact, 12,9 % of Denmark is forested. Though the highest point in Denmark is only 170 meters above sea level this fact did not stop the Danes from naming one of the hills in the country \"Himmelbjerget\" - which basically translates to \"The Skye Mountain\". Denmark has a temperate climate with mild winters and cool summers with an average of 179 days with precipitation. Because of the position between a continent and an ocean the weather often changes. Denmark is very windy which explains why Denmark is one of the world\u2019s largest export of Wind Turbines with companies like Vestas and Siemens.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    In the beginning,<\/strong><\/em><\/span> Denmark was the home of the mighty Vikings who sailed the seas and ravaged vast tracts of The World. However, the evil was fought, and the barbarians were replaced with a representative democracy, where everyone over the age of 18 have the right to vote and hence maintain harmony. In Denmark today lives a queen, Margrethe 2., who represents one of the oldest monarchies in the world, as it dates all the way back to Gorm den Gamle in 958. The queen\u2019s primary task is to represent Denmark outwardly and create coherence internally.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    Once in Denmark<\/span><\/strong><\/em> there lived a world-famous writer called Hans Christian Andersen (H.C. Andersen) who wrote beautiful fairy tales. After his death his fairy tales became culturally embedded in the collective consciousness of the West. Some of his famous works include \u201cThe little Mermaid\u201d, \u201cThe Snow Queen\u201d and \u201cThe Ugly Duckling\u201d. The Ugly Duckling tells of a little \u201cUgly\u201d bird born in a barnyard who suffers abuse from others around him until he matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all. This fairy tale is one of the reasons the mute swan is now the national bird of Denmark. Even though H.C. Andersen dedicated his life to writing numerous fairy tales, he is famous for saying that life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale of them all.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    Even though it all sounds amazing there is nothing Danes are prouder of than the concept of \u201cHygge<\/em>\u201d. The only thing Danes love more than \u201chygge\u201d is to talk about \u201chygge\u201d. Hygge is officially defined as \u201ca quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.\u201d But more than anything, it\u2019s a feeling, an atmosphere, a mood - and we can\u2019t wait to share that experience with you during the congress, so that we all can live happily ever after...<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
