Dear Research Community,
We would like to warmly invite you to join our first webinar of The EFPSA’s Research Programme 2023/2024. It is not only an amazing opportunity to develop your research skills and meet other student researchers from all over Europe but also the first of the upcoming events that we have planned for you during our mandate – stay tuned!
We are happy to announce that our first webinar will focus on Project management in science: from an initial idea to a published paper. Have you ever though about pursuing a career in science? Have you ever wondered where to start from? The truth is that the most difficult part of science is having a good idea. Get ready, because on the 20th of July at 5pm CEST, we will meet together and learn how to achieve it! During this webinar we will discuss the importance of mentoring in research and think of how to choose the right scientific project. We will also raise an issue of managing project length, assessing feasibility and publishing your best work. Moreover, we are going to work on your skills related to the scientific method, stats and programming.
The speaker will be Krzysztof Basiński, Ph.D. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland. In his work, he uses neuroscientific methods such as EEG and pupillometry to study how the brain processes basic sound properties. Specifically, he is interested in what type of computations the brain uses to analyse and predict the regularities in the auditory input. Aside from scientific work, he also teaches courses on research methods, affective science and auditory perception to students at the Medical University of Gdańsk. He is an advocate for the use of programming techniques in science and open science practices. In his free time, he enjoys playing and composing all kinds of music, from ambient to blues.
Do not hesitate and sign up now here.
Hope to see you all soon!
Best regards,
RP Team
