Research in a Nutshell

December webinar: Methodological and Practical Aspects of Experience Sampling Studies in Contemporary Psychological Research

Dear readers,

We hope everyone is doing well in this busy academic time. We are honoured to extend our invitation to the upcoming webinar that will concentrate on data collection in your studies. As we all know, methodology is often the most challenging aspect of research projects and it is imperative to ensure proper sampling to achieve accurate results. The webinar will take place on 1st December at 17:30 CEST and will be delivered by Aliye Canan Taşlıoğlu Sayıner, a psychologist, psychotherapist, and researcher from Turkey.

The presentation will follow the topic of “Methodological and Practical Aspects of Experience Sampling Studies in Contemporary Psychological Research”.  We plan it to last up to 90 minutes in the form of a 60-minute lecture, with interactive hands-on practices interspersed throughout, followed by the Q&A session at the end. During the lecture, we will discuss how to collect data from repeated assessments in the individual’s natural environment. If you are interested in conducting longitudinal research that involves asking participants to report on their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and/or environment on multiple occasions over time, you should definitely come and talk about it with us and our speaker. You will also have a chance to dive into the world of contemporary psychology and the integration of traditional psychological theories with modern perspectives on human thought and behaviour.

Aliye Canan Taşlıoğlu Sayıner has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and subsequently earned her Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology at the University of Vienna. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in the field of Clinical Psychology at the University of Health Sciences, Turkey. During her master’s degree, she was involved in scientific research conducted at the University of Vienna and is currently working as a researcher on various projects at the Groningen University in the Netherlands. Furthermore, she has received training in various therapeutic approaches such as Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Interpersonal Relationship Therapies, and has successfully completed the International Relationship and Family Studies Certificate Program. She continues to work with her clients within the framework of these diverse therapeutic approaches. In her academic research, she explores the impact of childhood experiences on adult relationships and psychological well-being, and she investigates the effectiveness of personalised ecological momentary assessment and intervention methods.
