They also oversee the scientific aspects of the Research Summer School (RSS), an annual event that marks the beginning of the programme. To add more, the EFPSA Research Programme is an opportunity for psychology students to develop their research skills and knowledge, get inspired by experts in different areas of psychology and get in touch with other young researchers.

Stages of the Research Programme

The EFPSA Research Programme adheres to a structured process that we follow every year. First of all, we start preparations a year ahead of time. This includes supporting the EFPSA Events Office in the Organising Committee recruitment (a team responsible for coordinating the Research Summer School). Then, we enlist a group of RP Supervisors to guide student researchers and finally, we assemble a passionate team of individuals eager to collaborate on intercultural research. When everything is ready, we all gather in July for the Research Summer School, held in a country selected by the Organising Committee. It is worth noticing that the Research Programme is not just all about the RSS and the students chosen to work with us for the whole mandate. For those who are eager to expand their research horizons, we offer a series of monthly webinars and workshops, as well as share psychoeducational content on our social media and lead our blog, where students can publish their articles.

Research Summer School

The Research Summer School (RSS), as mentioned before, is an event celebrating the start of the Research Programme. It usually takes place at the beginning of July, in a country chosen by the Organising Committee. It is also a moment where 36 student researchers from all over Europe, chosen during the open call, meet the RP Supervisors for the first time. Each year, during the RSS, participants form six teams consisting of six undergraduate or master students each, led by academic professionals. At this point, the groups start working on their projects by choosing the topic, planning the whole year and having a chance to get to know each other in person. Their work continues for a whole year under the guidance of the EFPSA Research Programme and can continue further on their own, depending on their needs. The process ends when they publish their papers in the journal of their choice. They also get a chance to present their research progress during the annual EFPSA Congress and thus, reach a wider audience, as well as publish their articles in our EFPSA Journal – JEPS. The Research Summer School is a great chance for every psychology student to connect with like-minded individuals and gain valuable research experience.

Our goal

The EFPSA RP has a clear objective: to establish a comprehensive framework for all research groups to successfully execute and submit their EFPSA RP research within a year of the RSS. To do so, we are active on our social media, we started a series of webinars on how to do science in psychology and initiated this blog, together with the Journal of European Psychology Students (JEPS). Our social media channels serve as a platform to share our latest research insights, updates, and encourage you to participate in quizzes, polls and surveys that help us create our content. The blog provides a space for students to express their thoughts on recently read studies, books or movies, and explore intriguing areas of psychology. We want to give people an opportunity to get to know each other better and have a chance to discuss each other’s work, that is why under each article published on our website, there is a short note about the author. We also warmly invite you to visit our Facebook Group. The Research Programme The EFPSA Research Programme (EFPSA RP), formerly known as EFPSA Junior Research Programme, is an EFPSA Service, consisting of a twelve-month research programme that involves students, PhD and postdoctoral researchers and established academics. The programme is chaired by the Research Programme Team consisting of the Coordinator, the Research Responsible, and two Team Members who provide guidance and overview for the whole process. Stages of the Research Programme The EFPSA Research Programme adheres to a structured process that we follow every year. Research Summer School The Research Summer School (RSS), as mentioned before, is an event celebrating the start of the Research Programme. Our goal The EFPSA RP has a clear objective: to establish a comprehensive framework for all research groups to successfully execute and submit their EFPSA RP research within a year of the RSS. However, the Research Programme Team has taken the initiative to not only focus on the selected programme researchers but also to promote research-related knowledge and experience among non-EFPSA psychology students. It is also where we share some research-related knowledge and tips on how to do your research. Throughout the webinars, we want to give both the students and non-students a chance to meet with experts from different areas of psychology and be able to learn from “the best ones”. How to collaborate with us If you are interested in what we do and want to follow our steps and/or open calls, we warmly invite you to follow us on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. We eagerly look forward to connecting with you and if you have any ideas for collaborating with us and contributing to the promotion of psychology as a science, e-mail us at rp@efpsa.org!
