Upcoming exchange in Australia
Hi! 😊 My name is Salla-Mari and I’m a 25-year-old psychology major from Finland. I’m currently doing my third year at the uni and finishing some of the last courses for my Bachelor’s degree. This year, I’m going to move abroad and live out one of my long-lasting dreams. In February I’m going to be in Australia, the land down under! I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am about it and it still feels surreal. I applied to the exchange programme even though I knew that there would be a lot of competition over who gets to go there. I had always dreamt that someday I would…

The city in the sky: studying abroad 9.272 kilometers from home!
Germany? Norway? Spain? United States? South Africa? South Korea? Hong Kong? I considered all of these 7 destinations. My previous university, Utrecht University, offered more than 500+ destinations. While it is nice to have so many options, it was incredibly hard to choose between all those options, because what should you really look for? Every destination has its charm and its perks but in my mind this was really an opportunity of a life-time. Utrecht University encourages its students to study abroad by creating space within your curriculum to go abroad without any delays in your studies. After talking to former students who studied abroad, it was really a no-brainer…

Studying “Abroad”? About Being a German Psychology Student in Vienna
It’s become a cliché: if your Numerus Clausus (your grade from the last years of High School) doesn’t fit, you simply cannot get into a German university to study psychology. So, what are your options? Well, either you find something else or you’ll have to go somewhere else. And many of us who prefer the latter option choose Austria. I mean, how could we not? There is this small country right next to ours, in which they speak the same language and where they have no college tuition fees. Plus, they have this wonderful policy that your high school grades do not count. You’ll just have to take a test…

Université de Bordeaux 2016
Application Process When I started my studies I was already sure that I wanted to do an exchange semester. So, I have started already 1.5 years before my exchange with gathering information about different possibilities. Since I wanted to enhance my French language skills and am interested in France, the decision was made quite quickly. My university had an ERASMUS agreement with the university in Bordeaux and after I handed in all the papers and my explication, I had to wait. But then finally in February 2016 I received an e-mail telling me that I was chosen to go there. Preparation In order to prepare myself, I started reading French…

Internship in Oxford and Erasmus in Denmark -Laura’s story :)
Hello! Tell us something about yourself. Hello! My name is Laura, I am 23 years old and graduated from my Master’s Programme in Psychological Research last June. I am currently studying Statistics at the University of Leuven in Belgium, where I also got my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. I might be studying very close to the town I grew up, but do not mistake that for liking to stay in one place. I really love traveling, have visited 36 countries so far, and have taken part in several exchange programmes. The two most important ones were a semester abroad in Denmark through Erasmus, and completing my Master’s internship in the…

Studying abroad in Portugal – life of an Erasmus + student !
Tina Vardič is finishing her Master’s degree in General Psychology at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. This year, she spent one semester studying in Portugal as an Erasmus+ exchange student. In this interview, she will tell us all about her experience studying abroad — at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon! 1.) Tell me more about your journey abroad. I simply applied for Erasmus, which is fortunately not that hard. I met plenty of students from other countries (Russia for example) for whom Erasmus is not something normal and easily accessible, so that made me appreciate the simplicity of my Erasmus process even more. I wanted…

Studying Abroad – Keti’s Adventure in Slovakia
Hello! Tell us something about yourself. My name is Keti and I am from Albania. Two years ago I decided to study abroad and I made a very unusual choice (at least my family thought so). I decided to study psychology in Slovakia. The bachelor’s program here for psychology is only offered in Slovak, so I prepared myself to undergo a full year of learning the tricky Slovak language. My university of choice was Comenius University, the oldest and best in the country. What describes me as a person? Well, I like to read a lot (luckily, Bratislava has many amazing bookstores!), I am a bit impulsive and I love…

Studying Online – Andrew
How did you find out about the possibility of studying abroad? During my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Malta, especially during my last year, several lecturers were willing to give us, students, tips and suggestions on what our next steps should be after we graduate. One of the options they mentioned was the possibility to enroll in a course (MA or MSc), by correspondence, at a University based overseas. It means that you would be studying at a University outside of your country, from your home country, using the Internet. How did you make the decision to try it out? Since I had a stable job last year,…
