Getting Here

Are you already concerned about how you will travel around Porto? Nothing to worry about, the public transportation system is well equipped with metro, buses and urban trains. For timetables you can check the STCP Website/App or Google Maps. Fun fact: the metro is both underground and above ground, so you’ll be able to take in the view while you travel between places!

For the people who want to enjoy everything Porto has to offer, we recommend buying the Andante Tour 3 card which is valid for 72 hours and costs 15€.

How to get to Porto

By plane

If you can’t wait to get to the Conference, the fastest way to come is by plane! From Porto Airport (a.k.a. Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport) you’ll be in the city centre in about 20 minutes. If you’re always on the lookout for a bargain, you can choose a low-cost company like Ryanair, EasyJet or Wizz Air. Alternatively, you can use the Portuguese airline TAP or European airlines like KLM, Lufthansa or AirEuropa, among many others.

By bus or train

For the ones who want to enjoy the landscapes of Europe, have an interest in reducing their carbon footprint or simply don’t like to ride on airplanes, you can come by bus or train! Keep in mind that it does take some time since Portugal is on the edge of Europe so be sure to bring a book, earphones and just sit back and enjoy the ride.

By bus we recommend the one and only FlixBus. By train we suggest checking the Eurail website.
