All participants coming to Malta and in possession of a passport from a country which is not ‘Visa Exempt’ will require a VISA for their stay in Malta. These countries include Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kosovo, Russia and Turkey. If you are from any other country not mentioned above in bold and get chosen for the Congress, you will NOT require a VISA for your stay in Malta for up to 90 days in a 180 day period and the information below does NOT apply to you.

If you are from any of the countries mentioned above which are not ‘Visa Exempt’, the Organising Committee will be guiding you through the process of obtaining a VISA individually once you have been chosen for the Congress. However, it’s important for you to be aware of the following important points beforehand:

  1. The guidelines for application specific to each of the countries are as follows:
  • If you hold an Azerbaijani passport you will be able to apply for a VISA at the Italian Embassy in Baku.
  • If you hold a Belarusian passport you will be able to apply for a VISA at the Embassy of Italy in Minsk.
  • If you hold a Kosovan passport you will be able to apply for a VISA from a country close to Kosovo which has an Embassy issuing Maltese VISAs, such as Turkey.
  • If you hold a Russian passport you will be able to apply for a VISA through the steps provided in the following link: http://www.vfsglobal.com/Malta/Russia. 1. You will need to apply for a VISA not later than 2 months prior to the Congress. This means that upon our approval of application email, you should immediately pay the participation fee and book your flights so as to apply for the VISA by latest mid-February. We will be contacting you ourselves in order to individually guide you and follow-up but it is still extremely important that you take this process with great personal responsibility so as to ensure that you obtain your VISA in time.
  2. VISAs are issued against a fee specific to your country and you will be asked for this fee by the Embassy or Centre from which you are applying from. This fee can range between €60 and €100. The Organising Committee have no control over these fees.
  3. We will require a scan of your passport in the unlikely case that you encounter any problems during the VISA application process in your country which require for us to follow up and aid resolving. This will be requested from you upon being accepted for the Congress via email.

If you have any further queries prior to the closing of applications please do not hesitate to get in touch with us through the ‘Contact’ section on our website. Until then, you will be receiving an email from us regarding your individual VISA application process upon getting accepted for the Congress!
