Get your shoes ready because the excursion is going to be a full day of history and art as you go back in time and experience the rich past this small island has to offer.

The day will start by going to the small town of Mellieha which is located in the northern region of the archipelago. This village is full of rich history dating back to the Neolithic period, being a prominent site during the period of St John. While visiting you will get the opportunity to see various batteries built from the 18th century and also shelters from World War II. Mellieha is a popular tourist destination holding a title of the European Destination of Excellence due to its sustainable initiatives.

After being mesmerised with these historic sites you will also get the opportunity to go to a nature walk in Ghajn Tuffieha. Since Malta is an island wherever you go you will be surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and in fact this location holds 3 beautiful bays next to it; Golden Bay which is a white beach which allows swimmers to easily walk into the sea, Ghajn Tuffieha bay which is a red beach on a descend hill, and also Gnejna Bay which offers a mixture of rocks, sand and pebbles.

We will then be heading to our Capital City – Valletta. Valletta is known for its Baroque character with elements of Mannerist and Modern Architecture. The city was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, full of buildings from the 16th Century. The reason why it is called Valletta was because in 1565 after the Great Siege the Knights of St. John won against the Ottomans, the Grandmaster at the time; Jean de Valette, immediately set out to build a new fortified city on the Sciberras peninsula. You will be appreciating our social theme more while exploring this city as we will be visiting the Auberges that used to host the knights when they used to rule the land.
