The Association of Psychology Students “SINAPSA” was founded in 1997 for the presentation and support of students of Psychology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The main goal of the association is to provide psychologists with additional support, by offering them additional educational opportunities in the form of lectures, trainings and opportunities for the practical application of the acquired knowledge. In other words, “SINAPSA” was established to positively influence the personal and professional development of students of psychology from BiH, which further encouraged positive changes in the state of psychology as a whole in BiH. In addition, SINAPSA aims to provide students of psychology with the possibility of networking, not only with other cities of BiH, but also with other countries in the region, but also in Europe. Since its inception, “SINAPSA” has successfully performed a variety of activities for its members and students of psychology in general, including educational sessions on including educational sessions on some of the most relevant topics; study visits and participation in events of a regional nature, organised by other cooperative associations.

- Providing more advanced and modern conditions for psychology research
- Active development of educational, cultural and social interests of students of psychology
- Cooperation with other similar or equivalent associations and organisations in the country and abroad, and all organisations that support the work of the association
- Support of scientific research and professional training
- Promotion of psychology as a profession
- Organising the gathering of psychology students throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and promoting their further cooperation
Current situation
The association currently has 105 members, and is officially a member of the European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations (EFPSA) since 2016.
SINAPSA offers two types of membership – passive and active, according to whether a member wants to participate actively, join meetings, organising lectures or other types of events for students (active membership), or to use those lectures for improvement in class, personal life or career (passive membership).
